Lent must be here.....Fryday Knight Fish Frys began this past Fryday Knight.

The "Krew" served over 270 meals and everyone had a great time.  Kudos to all those who helped setup, serve and clean-up; it truly was a team effort.

50-50 raffle resulted in over $300 being added to pool that will be distributed to charities after 2016 season is completed in late March.

Memorial Day Parade 2015 (click for more photos)
The parade on Memorial Day 2015 will be remembered as a 'wet one'!

The rain was not heavy or constant, but it still came down enough to soak most in the parade, including our Knights.

Our 4th Degree Knights, in full regalia, were soaked to the skin wtih their plumes drooping......and our flag bearers were almost exhausted from carrying a flag that is heavy to begin with, much less soaked with water.

Thanks to all who took the time to remember those who fell before us to allow us the freedoms we enjoy today.

Classic Car Show 2015 (click for more photos)
On Sunday July 12, Fr. McDonald Council #1911 welcomed over 60 classic cars and owners as well as many Knights, their families and neighbors of Elmhurst and near communities to our first ANNUAL Classic Car Show.

Led by Brother Ernie Iannota and a large group of Brother Knights, the event was a huge success!  Most of our events draw primarily from Elmhurst but this event drew guests from all over the near west Chicago suburbs.  Butch Navarro handled the catering and got rave reviews for the BBQ baby back ribs and chicken wings; both were very popular.  Music was handled by "Big Bopper" Dennis Secera.

While the event was in the parking lot, the facilities in the hall were available to show attendees.  Many attendees enjoyed a brief respite from the sun in the air-conditioned hall.  Never one to let an opportunity to serve pass by,  John I opened the bar at 11 AM with a signature Bloody Mary created especially for this event.

At the end of the day, the event was profitable and a good time was had by all.  Plans are already underway for the 2nd annual event in 2016 with the motto "...FILL THE LOT...."

Thanks Ernie....for a job well done!

Festa Italiana 2015
On Friday Knight May 29 Fr. McDonald Council #1911 welcomed over 200 friends and family to the hall for 'Festa Italiana'!

A delicious buffet dinner was served by Navarro Catering and NO one went away hungry!

Thanks to all who were able to attend what we hope will become an annual event.

Thanks to everyone that gave of their time, talent...and yes, blood to make this a new record for our council.

For those that did not get to donate, mark your calendars: our next drive is the Saturday after Christmas Day 2015.  Since you will likely be still in giving mode, give the gift only you can give!
